Comic legend and social activist Dick Gregory came into the studio to talk with Ed Lover! He opened up about how getting bullied and being the class clown in school as a kid lead him to do comedy, and how he got started speaking out about injustice.

He talks about when he first noticed racial inequalities in the sports world: “when I go to the football game and see it, I see slavery all over again.” Dick further expands on that, explaining exactly how the football world operates like a plantation. Check out the exclusive video above to hear more about from this incredible interview on “The Ed Lover Show.” EdLoverShow.com

AllThingsCreating says:

Guys if you keep having these types of dialogue soon there will be nothing left for black men to do. Believe me if you won't do it some other race will.

Areal Mann says:

These viewpoints are pure stupidity. The best golfer in the world (a black man) no longer plays. Golf's ratings drop by 50%, because golf is now boring without this great player. And he claims that the "half of all fans who wanted to see him lose" stopped watching, and that proves racism. So then by that logic the half that wanted him to win were the ones who kept watching? Why would they stick around? The guy the loved to see win was gone.

You have to work really hard to turn things around so hard that you find these things racist. No $100 million athletes own businesses? Well the ones who didn't squander their fortunes do. Ever hear of Michael Jordan?

Some kids get concussions, and some don't make the pros, so they were used and that's racism. But the NFL and NBA have literally allowed thousands of black men to escape poverty just so long as they weren't stupid enough to squander it away. All of those men would likely still be poor without these leagues. The fact that not all of these men made it is not racism.

The Negro leagues paid more than the major leagues? Really? Oh ya we all know about those filthy rich Negro Leaguers who were forced to give it all up and join Major League Baseball.

Put down the crack pipe old man.

Tryumph Noble, Sr says:

Where did this old black man find his white privilege card at?!
No seriously this dude looks like he grew up in the segregation era, how did he make it to be so rich and famous if racism is so strong in America?!?!

e gutierrez says:

People like tiger woods. I've never heard anyone complain about him except for when he started losing. he can disappear from the game because he plays for himself and can afford it.

Coco Bongo says:

If that is what you consider slavery sign me up .

Roving Mauler says:

All those millionaire slaves that just played sports and drove sports cars around the plantation while having sexual favors thrown at them constantly until they decide to retire at 40. Very striking similarities… Retards.

James F says:

Working at Walmart and McDonalds is slavery too…. except you’re not making millions

John Brooks says:

If that’s slavery, sign me up !!!

Buffalo D says:

Dick Gregory is talking out of his ASS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Saturnz7Sonz says:

The NFL & NBA draft, Is nothing but extravagant glamourized facade distraction of a modern day slave auction block.
