On March 9th, 2019 at the African American Research Library and Cultural Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida Professor Kaba H. Kamene made his triumphant return to South Florida. He was an education consultant with the late Professor Asa G. Hilliard III for the Broward County Board of Education from 1989-1994.

Professor Kaba took us on an historical journey to explain the significance of the Haitian Revolution. The lecture began with the first enslaved Afrikans coming to the island of Haiti and the events that led to the islands independence in 1804.

Professor Kaba tells us “In order to understand the success of the Haitian Revolution you must see it in relation to all other Afrikan (slave) Rebellions in the western hemisphere. From the American Revolution all the way the present day BLM. There is an internal link of solidarity in all of us.”
