***UPDATE. The number of people killed was close to 300, not 3000 as we initially reported.*** Ana Kasparian (The Young Turks, The Point) fills in for Cenk Uygur in today's Final Judgment. Ana discusses the story of the Tulsa Race Riots which took place after a community known as Black Wall Street or Little Africa was burned down in 1921. The Tulsa Race Riots was basically a war by the KKK against a very prosperous African-American community in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I REALLY WISHED WE COULD ONCE AGAIN HAVE A LITTLE BLACK WALL STREET. I RESEARCH THE TRUTH BEHIND MY HISTORY ALL THE TIME. THE HISTORY SHOWS ME THAT WE'RE FAR FROM DUMB AND STUPID AS OTHERS SAY. THIS IS WHY THEY REWROTE OUR HISTORY. WE WERE AND STILL IS AND COULD BE POWERFUL!!!!!
I just learnt that this happen way before the civil rights era which started in 1954, which was meant to end segregation, meaning this was a formerly segregated black area that prospered without special support from white people. Why don't mainstream media do much to teach this when talking about black history, why don't they show this to racist people who assume we can't prosper without whites.
