Tulsa Race Riots (Pt. 1) | Watchmen S01E01 | HBO
The Tulsa race riot of 1921 took place on May 31 and June 1, 1921, when mobs of white residents attacked black residents and businesses of the Greenwood District in Tulsa, Oklahoma. It has been called "the single worst incident of racial violence in American history."
This is its dramatisation in the opening of the Damon Lindelof helmed adaptation of Watchmen, the celebrated graphic novel by Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons.

I thought I knew about american history enough… but when I watched this scene in watchmen, I thought this as another alternate history of watchmen. It is shame for everyone that this massacre is being forgotten. How could a men doing like that. It's like a fking war.

I don't know why my black folks was waiting for a school to teach them about Tulsa Ok and what happened to Black Wall Street. When the movie Rosewood came out Tulsa Ok was mentioned in passing. Also when Timothy McVay pulled his terrorist act in OK the destruction and genocide of Tulsa Ok came up again. I don't know what our people be doing that they are not and we're not paying attention. Why do you need someone to teach you Black History in school anymore anyway? With the technology of the internet and social media all anyone has to do anymore is just type in search Black History or Black Historical Facts and a lot of information and education will come up for their review. Simple as that. That's what I do. Our folks waiting for someone to teach them what they can learn for themselves now. It's so pitiful. And another thing too President Trump can and should use the word lynching since that very evil act was brought to this country from England and Europe whom were famous for their lynching mobs. Yes read and review their history too. Europe was famous for their lynching and mob mentality against their own white citizens. The London Mob was one of the most famous. If you watch any historical picture with Europe or England featured in it lynching was front and center. Also the Westerns movies almost always featured gun battles and lynchings. Don't believe me go watch a few of those wild west movies. Like I said people need to type in anything they want to learn about it. No more excuses for the continued ignorance of our people. If we can type in hair, nails, cars, music videos, twerking, project fights, and all those other shenanigans that got you all attention you can redirect that attention to something more meaningful and stop waiting for someone else to do it for you.
