Dr. Claud Anderson is president of PowerNomics Corporation of America, Inc. and The Harvest Institute, Inc. PowerNomics is a company that publishes his books and produces the multimedia presentations in which he explains his concept, PowerNomics. PowerNomics is a package of principles and strategies that explain “race” and offer a guide for Black America to become a more self-sufficient and economically competitive group in America. Dr. Anderson is widely recognized as one of America’s most influential intellectuals and authors. His work has made Black history popular with all age groups. His book, Black Labor, White Wealth: The Search for Power and Economic Justice is the foundation for the programs, policies, and research solutions of the Harvest Institute, a national Black think tank, of which he is president. He is a regular guest on radio and television talk shows and lectures frequently to business groups, universities, churches and social organizations on the economic and political solutions that he proposes.

Dr. Anderson’s book, PowerNomics: The National Plan to Empower Black America, incorporates and reflects his past experiences: his academic research, business experience, both as an owner and a capital provider, and his varied political positions. He has held the highest positions in federal and state government and politics. He was State Coordinator of Education for Florida under Governor Reubin Askew during the tumultuous period of the 1970s. After successful social reform projects in Florida and leading president Jimmy Carter’s Florida campaign to a win in the state, Carter appointed Anderson as the Federal Chairman for a commission of governors of southeast states. In that position (rank of assistant secretary in the U.S. Department of Commerce), he stimulated and funded economic development projects for the governors in those states. The seafood industry, at that point all wild catch, was a major sector focus. The projects he funded created jobs and businesses. Anderson has taught at all levels of education, was also executive director of two economic development corporations for the city of Miami, Florida and a major planner and coordinator for the 1988 Democratic Convention in Atlanta. As the highest ranking Black on the planning committee for the 1988 Democratic Convention, he awarded 37% of the contracts to Blacks, a record that has never been broken.

As an entrepreneur, Dr. Anderson built Maryland’s largest seafood producing facility and operated it for seven years, has owned radio stations, retail food outlets and a residential construction company. He obtained a Doctorate of Education degree from Wayne State University.

Dr. Anderson is president of The Harvest Institute, a nationally recognized think tank that does research, policy development, education and advocacy to increase the self-sufficiency of Black America. Dr. Anderson’s books, Black Labor, White Wealth: A Search for Power and Economic Justice and PowerNomics: The National Plan, are the foundation for Harvest Institute programs.

Ricky Pastille says:

As long as black folks listen only to other blacks and refuse to adopt traditional American values, they are doomed. Really would be better off to pull a Marcus Garvey and move back to Africa. They'd run the place in a generation. But in this country, they're absolutely doomed by their anger and hatred. It's killing them — as it does most angry hateful people.

Let him go into entire poor neighborhoods White and Black and use his theories to change them and I'll believe it. Right now he's just selling books, DVDs, CDs and lectures.

Garifuna is an African who was never enslaved in the Americas. Honduras, Belize, Guatemala and Nicaragua are countries where you find these beautiful black people. I live in California and we have lots of Garifuna individuals in California.

Very important stuff right here….but he looks like Robert de Niro. Amazing speaker though.

Daniel Leslie says:

I agree with everything he is saying but there is one thing missing. How is ALL black people going to do this? I bet you only a few black people know this information and black people are known for not working together. It is possible but it would take longer than my own life and who knows if the earth would even still exist at the time. I am so sorry if I sound like a killjoy and a loser :(

Denise Lopez says:

Dr. Anderson speaks so much truth. We are in a serious situation. There is nothing hear to laugh about. Time to Wake the Hell up and Learn something. This man has a Wealth of Knowledge. But it's sad to say. Too many of us will NEVER GET it!!

kaizersolze says:

Someone else said it below and it bears repeating: I understand what point he is trying to make — I'll do this in order of importance — but he's wrong about education. You have to learn the rules of the game in order to master the game. You cannot have economics without education. You have to know what it is you are getting into. You have to learn a skill to master it. What good would it be to own Viacom if you know nothing about visual media?

One person below said we should learn from the jews and someone said we should not. The jews control everything. Why would you not want to learn from them. If Jordan was the greatest basketball player ever or Hendrix the greatest guitarist ever, wouldn't it make sense to learn from them? I know someone who was raised as a jew and the things I am told about their educational system are astounding. They are taught to never pay full price, they are taught that they have been forever victims (brainwashing), they are taught that no matter what, they are jews at the end of the day. Another very important thing they learn early on (and so do Muslims) is the necessity of READING. Jews and Muslims learn to read at an early age because they have to read and recite their holy books by age 13. Christians are not and that is done intentionally. Notice how most blacks are christians and most blacks are dumb as fence posts. When christianity was a white-only religion, it was setup that way to keep the masses dumb (and it worked — see also the Dark Ages or learn about Basil I). Blacks should absolutely learn from jews and learn how to quietly take over. I know of two black banks. One advertises that it is a black bank and the other does not. Guess which one is older and larger? Jews aren't running around saying "we own Chase; we own NBC; we own Viacom!". They are quietly collecting their money and laughing all the way to the bank. Blacks should learn from everyone who is doing better. I know for a fact that Japanese kids are taught to save their money. Even at their version of Chuck E Cheese, there is a bank for them to save their tickets until the next visit. Black kids rarely save and if they do, it is to buy something dumb like sneakers or a belt. Asians in general don't tolerate grades lower than B. At my all-black-except-5-people high school, we had two Vietnamese kids. They were there every day before school and every day after. When they graduated, it was revealed they had straight As for 4 years (and perfect attendance). So black people should be open to learning from whomever is teaching a valuable concept. The messenger is no where near as important as the message.
