This caller stated that "ENGLISH IS NOT A LANGUAGE. IT IS AN IDIOM". This caller must be corrected regarding this notion. I cannot say with any certainty that Muta was agreeing with the caller position on IDIOM, listening closely I would say Muta was agreeing with the caller that the ENGLISH LANGUAGE was born out of other languages, ie. German, Latin, French etc, etc. AN IDIOM IS A PHRASE OR FIXED EXPRESSION THAT HAS A FIGURATIVE OR SOMETIMES LITERAL MEANING. Examples of idioms are such as 1, spill the beans, (reveal a secret) 2. kicking the bucket (referring to a death) not the actual kicking of a bucket 3. Go break a leg (ironic way of wishing good luck), not actually breaking someone's leg.
