Blavatsky said that, unlike the other races, black people don't possess the 'spark' that is necessary to partake in spirituality… As soon as I read that I knew her writings her part disinformation and part genuine spiritual investigation because out of all people, especially black people, it is the whites who have studied who KNOW damn well that we are the MOST spitutually capable people on earth. BTW, I disagree with Bobby's interpretation of her comment about us reaching our 'zenith'. Taking into account the propagandised prevailing ideas of black people/culture at the time – I believe her intention was to say that we were at our 'height' in that time period. Meaning that we could progress no further than the position we were commonly believed to be in culturally, intellectually and spiritually. Again, I believe this was another ploy to not only push the 'black inferiority' narrative that was very popular during this time of eugenics and 'race science' but, it would also serve as another deterrent for any black readers to pursue any deeper knowledge or involvement with the occult.
