No respect I leave.

Muhammed Alli says:

I like to support black but they are so arrogant and rude. I used to go to this black owed desert spot and they were alway opening late. I asked why and the worker got defensive I paided it no mind and kept patronizing than but they until they ended up closing. I think alot of business owners and woeker find it hard dealing with their asshole customers but they have to remember not to treat everybody the same.

Susan Simpson says:

I just suggested to our local Black Business Group to offer classes because sometimes I believe we just don't know.

ksfaith87 says:

Much of this has nothing to do with trauma. It's called good home training. Our ancestors knew how to treat one another in business and they were going through a great deal of trauma – from lynchings to other forms of Jim Crow racism. This post-Civil Rights business ethic is called laziness and taking other people of color for granted and becoming "too familiar" with other African Americans and not being respectful. At the same time, African American customers need to remember to respect boundaries and not think they can do certain things because "we're all black." Accountability on all sides.

James Robert says:

Sometimes they are arrogant and tend to respond negatively. My experience. They even had the balls to tell me "you wouldn't complain like that at a white owned restaurant"

Tommye Sardin says:

Black business some thoughts from owner–

Lots of people have unrealistic expectations because you are a Black business.

Some think their doing you a favor…lucky I'm doing business with you.

Others think the white man's ice is just a little bit colder.

Business provides a service and I'm sure most try to provide the best they have. But …some think no matter what you have or do is not good enough. Only because we've been trained thru the material world to think so.

Food for thought

@2:04 is too much logic Dr Boyce! 99.5% of Black Business here in Atlanta, have TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! also, most black people dont listen to constructive criticism

O. Melton says:

We are quick to call our businesses “black owned.” I stopped doing that. I service business traveler clientele and that means my customers are everyone; they are people from all walks of life, from all over the world, using a US green dollar and corporate credit cards.

They could care less that I’m a “Black Business.”

You put yourself in a box by doing this in my opinion. See, I don’t sell pro-black t-shirts that catch the eye of the black customers only; I’m in the Ground Transportation Service Industry. I operate a taxi company located in Oak Brook IL. I serve hotels, businesses and well off white folks that live in big homes and mansions. My business is not in the hood, but I hire my people to come get this money over here!

We need to stop selling t-shirts and calling that a business. All these black products, but no services being done.

We want to be proud of our creations, but that can stop you from making money. I honestly never hear Mexicans saying, Mexican owner or whites saying, White owner etc… just us being overly proud to have our own and wanting everyone to know!

Try servicing people’s needs instead of selling people things they want.

Dr. Boyce this would be a great Playlist. Black Codes of conduct.
