Chris Pritchard Cycling News says:

What did you think of the Luke Rowe and Tony Martin situation? Leave you comment below and we'll feature the best ones tomorrow as we do a follow-up story! (Jesper)

trisshandy says:

It's really skanky to show only the last third of the incident to stir up your commenters. Show the whole thing and it's clear that Rowe was rightly DQ'd. Martin was a closer case, but they were probably right to DQ him too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ccuwcRc6Vcc

blxtothis says:

First time I’ve seen this site. I thought it was going to be cycling related, bloody hell, I was wrong, this one’s a long intro of whingeing.

Seriously though, I’m surprised that comments on YouTube don’t accuse the Commisars of Xenophobia for depriving 2 teams that are dominating of their important road captains, thereby giving a French Maillot Jaune another advantage over 3 close rivals for the overall victory.

AnotherButt 4chair says:

Fighting is legal in hockey time to adopt hockey rules. Kidding relax.

KripkeSaul says:

I am not afraid: he is doping, as are all the others.

Sebastian Tri says:

Ccorrupt Tdf organisation

John Smith Jr says:

They are bike racers, not ballerinas. I'm sure they can sort problems out themselves.
If things get too out of control, the field will let them know!

tscholent says:

Agree with Rowe and Martin DQ but on the same level spectators should be hauled into court for obstructing the race by touching any part of a racer or his bicycle.

Golfgtiguy says:

Very harsh to expel them .Very OTT. Ponces managing the Tour.

Leona Bastet says:

If a Frenchman wins we ought to boo, spit and throw pi++. See how they like it. But we British don't do that because we are good sports.
No, Rowe and Martin should not have been disqualified.Heatwave conditions make for ill tempers. A fine and warning would have sufficed. But hey, it's Le Tour – it's on the telly an' all that, so image is very important innit? Chris Froome, wonderful to see you almost up and about. Anyone who believes in a conspiracy theory needs to seek help.

Michael Julien says:

What utter rubbish: the argument put forward here is that this is "normal behavior" when racing – so the penalty should just be a fine! The much more relevant point is that such behavior should NOT be acceptable at all. Therefore the UCI was correct to kick both riders out of the race. And they are VERY lucky that they did not receive a ban afterwards. Irresponsible – and disrespectible "professionals"!!!

racepnd says:

Typical of European run sports

Guerillatuber says:

Rowe just being the typical Ski team pig, bullying the pelotón as always.
Why isn't this surprising?

Rowe should have been disqualified, Martin fined.

Froome did the same last year.

I bet Froome never crashed, just been ped'ing again and is fresh out of a cycle

Sky/ineos will soon be coming down for dopping, just like daddy lance did.

Unless all their money can keep mouths shut!

John-boy says:

The narrator has a small drumstick (ice cream that is). Surprised more incidents like Rowe and Martin's don't happen more often in such close quarters

M I says:

This year's tour …yawn boring

123Schwimmer says:

DER LUKE UND DER TONY

James May says:

All cyclists have small man syndrome

TIM says:

neither one should of been kicked out just a warning would of been enough, this really favors the french, it's like they will do whatever it takes to win a tour if Alaphilleippe wins i want him to win with teams as close to full strength as possible. Now if Tony Martin knocked Rowe in to the bail of hay then i could see disquaification.

CSMedia says:

Get to the point, too much waffle!

olly cook says:

You know G!!! Surprised you never mentioned it

Carn Soaks says:

British Blinders are on during review. Consider your motives when editorializing. LR pushed two riders into the centre of the peleton with no thought for other riders. FaRK HIM

B Vans says:

seriously conspiracy theories on Froome injury? – any athlete looking at that injury knows it and winces….

B Vans says:

Wonderful Commentary…can make a cycling fans out of a NASCAR fan….

Ann Daly says:

Martin and Rowe both are professionals, I think that if one rider wanted to hurt or take out or knock another rider off their bike, that would have happened. In this instance I think this is more handbags, to a non pro cyclist this looked bad, to a pro cyclist this is more like cop yourselves on guys, tv cameras are on us.

Jared Madsen says:

Speaking of Jack Bobridge, if you didn't know he got sentenced to 4 year jail for drug trafficking at the start of the month

Pantster says:

ASO got what they wanted. The Commissaires may be different nationalities but they and everyone else knows that ASO has been desperate for a French winner for years, hell they’ve been designing the courses to suit the best prospect French rider for years. They had their perfect opportunity here, they can say the were fair handed DQ’ing both riders but it also helps the best French prospects in years.

There’s a saying “leave it on the road” and I think they did, making up afterwards. They are both ride captains and both showed their teams wouldn’t be pushed around on the road and they made their point and respected each other at the end of the stage. I wanted G to win but now, I hope Jumbo and Ineos now make a pact to work together and rip the legs off the two French riders (then declare the final stage won’t be a procession and the GC teams will race the final stage in Paris – now THAT would crown this the best TdF in years!).

Father Thames says:

Luke Rowe needs to grow up and learn that you don't get mad, you get even. Firstly, the retaliator in an incident always comes off worse in the eyes of the judges/referees. Secondly, take your time to decide when and where to take your revenge. As the saying goes, revenge is a dish best served cold.
