Universal Man says:

I instantly thought of X Clan's sample from this song. However, in addition…"hip, hop!" ??? You cannot tell me the brother's who started emceeing using "hip-hop" in their rhymes in the late 70s were not thinking of this song! Am I right?
I know Grand Master Caz stated that one of the young brothers on the scene was talking about hip-hop, as in military marching, and it caught on. I cannot remember who Caz was talking about though!

anthony cooper says:

The real trip is that it all is design to destroy you, smoking, drinking, slang, dressing down, dreads, anything to sway from reality is a trip and road to no were, give them Guns, and death follows, cause the trip is to have every body tripping looking for the all mighty dollar, chase it and destroy others cause for you to have it means someone else lose it, then has to steal, lie, beg, or sell them self for it, the trip is your Greed to have, it's presented every day in all kinds of ways, to keep you on the grind and make you think your behind, it's played out everyday when you read some one got shot, or is shooting up, or sell all if only you call, and spend a dollar, to make them holler you're finally on top, but don't you stop, not until you drop, cause that the way we've learned to play to get ahead but it's all in your head unto you dead. Theme's from the album The Last Poet's from New York. My uncle Charles played this album in the 70's and I find that as time moves forward the trip continues.  What are you striving for?

carmenlidia13 says:

21st century, many states no longer conscript soldiers, relying instead upon professional military with volunteers enlisted to meet the demand for troops. The ability to rely on such an arrangement, however, presupposes some degree of predictability with regard to both war-fighting requirements and the scope of hostilities.

carmenlidia13 says:

Many states that have abolished conscription therefore still reserve the power to resume it during wartime or times of crisis.[4] In the United States, conscription, also called "the draft", ended in 1973, but males between 18 and 25 are required to register with the Selective Service System to enable a reintroduction of conscription if necessary.

carmenlidia13 says:

Conscription is controversial because of conscientious objection to service or because of political objection to service for a disliked government or an unpopular war, and because it violates individual rights. Those conscripted may evade service, sometimes by leaving the country.

carmenlidia13 says:

Thank God They Don't Have a Draft As THEY did YEARS Ago ! It a Choice 2Day !
