I instantly thought of X Clan's sample from this song. However, in addition…"hip, hop!" ??? You cannot tell me the brother's who started emceeing using "hip-hop" in their rhymes in the late 70s were not thinking of this song! Am I right? I know Grand Master Caz stated that one of the young brothers on the scene was talking about hip-hop, as in military marching, and it caught on. I cannot remember who Caz was talking about though!

The real trip is that it all is design to destroy you, smoking,drinking, slang, dressing down, dreads, anything to sway from reality is a trip and road to no were, give them Guns, and death follows, cause the trip is to have every body tripping looking for the all mighty dollar, chase it and destroy others cause for you to have it means someone else lose it, then has to steal, lie, beg, or sell them self for it, the trip is your Greed to have, it's presented every day in all kinds of ways, to keep you on the grind and make you think your behind, it's played out everyday when you read some one got shot, or is shooting up, or sell all if only you call, and spend a dollar, to make them holler you're finally on top, but don't you stop, not until you drop, cause that the way we've learned to play to get ahead but it's all in your head unto you dead. We went from this to what we call Rap now…. Insulting…Started listening the The last Poets in the early 70s and still do. They were on point then and still are…..
I agree with :carification: below (and most of the comments) as this just transcends the whole white/black thing and if needed, music like this should be used as a weapon if need be. It should just :not: be ignored…
