“The Revival: Sis. Shahrazad Ali Interview” 11/10/2013

“I wrote the book because black women in America have been protected and insulated against certain kinds of criticism and examination.”~Sis. Shahrazad Ali

“The black man has been critiqued, the white woman and white man have been critiqued. Everybody but us (black women). I decided that we needed a self-examination of ourselves to find out what is our share of the problems in the black community.”~Sis. Shahrazad Ali

“Whenever there is a breakdown in a relationship, both parties are responsible. But we have always said it was the black man’s fault. We have always said that he left us, abandoned the children, beat us and killed us and did a lot of other things to us. My book tries to examine what happens before we get to that point.”~Sis. Shahrazad Ali

“It’s entirely possible that hidden some place in the Blackwoman’s psyche is a tremendous fury and loss of confidence in the Blackman because he was unable to protect her during slavery,” Ali writes. “She doesn’t know what he should have done to stop slavery, but she thinks he should have done something.”~Sis. Shahrazad Ali

This sounds like a load of bullshit. Women (especially black women) are constantly blamed for the breakdown of a relationship to the point of nauseum. Black men are never held responsible for their actions in a relationship so, wtf is this chick talking about??? GTFOH

This woman is out there risking her neck to give black people the message and they still ain't getting it!

Cosmic Moor says:

Im only 6:20 deep and I must say I m from Bklyn living still and Del Blasio is a stat quo flip flopper who  supported stop and frisk as Public advocate who marries a Negro black women from Guyana or Trinidad who once lived a  lesbian lifestyle she is a staunch feminist and is out spoken but in a tactless/unprofessional way and she lacks the style and looks of  the first lady. She also denied being Black I heard.  I never never NEVER voted for him because he did not speak to issues of blacks nor for me a Moorish American Male aka Black male. Lastly, and in the scenario, he is in bed and in the pockets of the Government Agent AL 'Charlatan' Sharpton, The JUDAS GOAT,  who is  Obamas selected Black negro leader for Blacks. Just not me and my peoples.

ACLTony says:

I think she hit the nail on the head after 24:30. Specifically, when she discussed the points as to why some Black men also turn to white women that act "feminine", charming, and soft. That's because, as she points out, so many Black women grow up with hardships and as a result they may have a rough/abrasive personality, feel resentful and are sometimes very aggressive, regardless if they live in poverty or have masters degrees.  These are the same women that call themselves "strong" and don't realize that acting rough and tough "like a man" is a total turn off to most good men that want a decent, warm woman to court and marry. They are also the same ones that say "Well, some men can't handle a strong woman. They need to WAKE UP and realize that most good men don't want to have to "handle" any woman and don't want or like "drama", PERIOD.  Sad situation all the way around that continues to be passed on to the next generation.

Ah-ma-wa Ya-sha-ah-la says:
