I spoke to Baba Henrik Clark last night…….I thanked him for his time dedicated to us…..I asked him to lend his spirit to many of us so we can fight the beast that will absolytely come …..I spoke to Khalid Muhammad as well , and asked him for his fighting spirit ….I don't waste my time praying about love…..Respect each other people

If we go back in history we see no law and order in Africa. 'Law of the jungle' is the only law if you can call it that in Africa. Law in the European sense of the term is not native to the African mind. African mind is concerned with survival at any cost, lack of foresightedness, an eye for an eye/tooth for a tooth basically a psychopathic existence. You want a true psychopath look at a Liberian, a Nigerian, a Ghanaian or any other west African for that matter. Is it any wonder then that west African has always been ruch pickings for those looking for slaves? A good slave is one that does not care about its existence nor cares for any laws, customs, rites or cultural sensitivity but only personal gain.

I admire Dr. Clarke's intellectual excellence but the parallel he drew between the so called story of a magician parting water for a bracelet and the great Passover of the Jews was a reach. The stories are worlds apart; the only parallels are water, and the parting of water.

It's always good to hear Dr. Clarke speak. His admonitions should encourage us to work harder and do better as we approach the the end of the first fifth of the 21st century. Some may dispute him on points here and there, but his essential message is that we need to learn from history and develop a value system that serves as the basis for how we govern ourselves.

We must very careful and mindful about where we get are information and also how we dissect this info. Google is not always the best source for info. A lot of books by prominent professors who have studied in Africa for years are a more reliable source. We must also look at who is writing it and what's there motivation. from what I have seen so far Akyeampong's work deal circa 1500-1900 (I may be wrong). Invaders into Africa go back thousands of years before that. Peace

What are your sources for this information? Dr Clarke never said everything was perfect in Africa. We can find many things wrong with Africa just look in your history book written by Europeans. Dr. Clarke is trying to show us hard headed African-Americans that we did great things also! Also I was talking about our mind-set when it comes to treatment of woman. Just look a Christianity when dealing with woman and then look at ancient African religions and where they place woman. Peace!

You are correct. There is a picture here that has many details left out of the image. Everything needs to be illustrated. EVERYTHING GOOD AND BAD. This man highlights the good that is hidden, the history that was lost. It is necessary to do so.
CrowdPleeza, You must listen to what Dr. Clarke is saying and has said. All the things that you talk about that is bad in Africa did not come from Africa! The bad practices towards woman is a European practice. He is talking about where we came from not where we are today. You must study your African history more. Also you must study European history to understand the whole picture. Too many African -Americans have no view or idea of where they came from. Peace!
My issue with Dr Clarke is that he too often comes with a romantic view of Africa. Not everything African is good. Africans have practices that are bad towards women for example. Like FGM,Trokosi and child brides. Then you have widows being mistreated in some African cultures because they are believed to be "impure". People need to learn about Africa from actual Africans. Too many black-Americans come with a romanticized view of the continent.
He is correct about the new Black middle class they are worse than the KKK.
In the 1960's they brought in college courses for those who were able to take them. One was a philosophy course. We studied the Greek philosophers. I was an only, only that is the only minority and only female in the class. They became upset with me when I could not see the greatness. I kept saying this is common sense. At the time I did not know they studied at the feet of Black monks. It was so much part of my culture. It was new to them therefore great.
We were the first people. We had years of evolution on other cultures. This is my culture and not the one I am forced to endure.
dr.clarke is a TRUE scholar and we must stop disrespecting ourselves and our people.we let the white man teach us his evil ways and now he using it against us. DIVIDE AND CONQUER
