I agree with Dr. Welsing's point… However, (For Colored Girls) had been out as a stage play 35 years before Tyler made it into a movie. He is not the original writer. Ntozake Shange, a female writer from the 70's Black feminist movement is the author. Therefore you get why TP's version was a hot mess. Plus you can't say what topics she wrote about in her play doesn't happen in the Black community because you know that would be a HUGE lie. I know Black women personally who have survived these same circumstances.
Now the question is …. where is your boy Spike, Will Packer, Antoine Fuqua and the rest of these Black men in Hollywood creating the images YOU want to see of yourself? There are certainly more men in powerful roles in entertainment than women. I guess they aren't making enough for you. I suggest you make them yourself.

The point is that yes these things do happen however the point is this is all we see where are the positive images of black men
