I also see the feminist movement very involved in the disaster of the divorce rate in Europe and the world. Almost every one I know gets divorced. I do see the man usually setting down and trying to take care of the family, but the women still think they can do on their own, so they leave the man and take the children. The todays empowerment of women is acctually destroying them, its just a free pass to do whatever they want with the excuse they are equal to men.

Let me just say I do agree with some of Shahrazad Ali's points. Some black women think they aren't part of blame for some of these black dysfunctional families. I'll share a personal story. My mother has driven away just about every male in her life that she has ever come in contact with. She verbally tore them down, and was unreasonably argumentative. No, I not only saw this in my home, but in my other black friends homes as well.
Who wants to put up with being belittled all of the time? Who wants to hear the negative tone, and voice of someone yelling every minute? Not a man, and women we'd probably be the first to act a damn fool if it was done to us. Even as an adult I'm still seeing this type of behavior in the black home. Why does it run so rampant in the black community? There is something wrong!!
Though this is an intricate example/truth, communication is vital in all relationships. Nothing is wrong with fixing a flaw, stop denying that most of us beat down our men, and then get upset when he abandons ship. No one including yourself wants to endure bad treatment…..There's a start

It has been 24 years since this program was made,ask yourself of all of all the myriad of views that was discussed( taking the current state of Black Society into account) which viewpoint would have brought us closer to empowerment.While her message is not perfect Mrs Ali was attempting to attack the root of the issue,rather than play the liberal democrat advocated black victim of the racist machine.
