The council was called by the Emperor Constantine. Leading bishops inthe church agreed to participate, so serious was the matter at hand. To understand why the first universal council was called, we must go back to around A.D. 318. Arius began teaching in opposition to the bishop of Alexandria, Alexander. Specifically, he disagreed with Alexander’s teaching that Jesus, the Son of God, had existed eternally, being “generated” eternally by the Father. Instead, Arius insisted that “there was a time when the Son was not.” Christ must be numbered among the created beings — highly exalted, to be sure, but a creation, nonetheless. Alexander defended his position, and it was not long before Arius was declared a heretic in a local council in 321.
This did not end the matter. Arius simply moved to Palestine and began promoting his ideas there. Alexander wrote letters to the churchesin the area, warning them against those he called the “Exukontians,” from a Greek phrase meaning “out of nothing.” Arius taught that the Son of God was created “out of nothing.” Arius found an audience for his
teachings, and over the course of the next few years the debate became so heated that it came to the attention of Constantine, the Emperor.
At 1:35, Arius wasn't disputing the virgin birth nor was he claiming that the Gospels ( and Christ ) were derived from Egyptian mythology. Arius's argument was that Christ wasn't eternal, that he ( Christ ) was a created being. He was declared a heretic in a local council in 321, but this didn't end the matter; he simply moved to Palestine and promoted his ideas there. As for Apollonius of Tyana, his life was written about 150 years after the crucifixion of Christ. The Life of Apollonius of Tyana was written no earlier that 217. The latest supposed date of the Gospel writing is 75 AD; the earliest supposed date is 50 AD, so how could Apollonius of Tyana be a template for Christ ?

All this mess about "Christs" is also poor in overstanding by these lot. Christ is a ROMAN PAGAN concept not a Hebrew one. Also, this same garbage of Christianity being synonymous with the bible has been tried by the ZEITGEIST MOVEMENT in which I was a founding member of the NYC Chapter in 2009/2010.
These pagan mythos are based on NIMROD, SAMMIRAMUS & TAMMUZ. And Osiris, Isis and Horus stem from that pagan trinity, so on and so forth throughout all of civilization.
This is not all true.. From doing my research on Arius, it seems like he rejected the idea of the Trinity. This clip says that he rejected the idea of Christ and that Constantine made up the story of Christ, when in actuality Arius believed in Christ. However, he was not willing to accept the fact that the members of the trinity were equal. He believed that although Jesus was not on the same level as man, he was not on the same level as God. I urge everyone to do their own research and not just take this clip as the truth.

Google the oldest picture of Christ and look at the date of that and the date of the council of Nicea took place. #truth
