Realdal Gayle says:

Black Jamaican should be ashamed the white don't do anything unless he's getting paid and Roddgan is paid very well reggae is bigger asset for him than him for reggae give awards to your own they've earned it.. one love blessed.

HolyRollerTV says:

Coxsone should be using this narrow window of controversy to put Coxson Sound back on the map….

NileValleyDreams [Lalibela Nile] says:

I give perpetual thanks for Rastafari and Reggae, for inoculating me and the ones with an African consciousness from an early age. No doubt, without Rasta and Reggae, I would have been mindful of that which is Africa; however, I probably would not have a oneness with Africa that all Africans should. Give thanks to all who facilitated this effort–peace, love and light to all…

Paul Haye says:

I, in a way I understand Coxone. We quick to big up others and downplay our own great ppl.

But Rodigan is not a negative for Jamaica; Rodigan genuinely loves the music and has advanced the music. It's not an all or nothing things.

The world has changed – and Jamaicans at home have not adapted to the change. The blame is not on Rodigan. It's on us. We continue to be unsophisticated and innovative.

Example: although Jamaicans owned and controlled many record printing presses, the technology has changed. Let's face it, vinyl is obsolete. Hell CDs (compact discs) are obsolete. How many recording studios in Jamaica have made solid, strict legally binding deals with Itunes and the many streaming services out there?

Gone are the days when man haffi hire a big truck to load milk crate full a vinyl record weighing hundreds and thousands of pounds.

You can talk bout record purity all you want – this is about money and the most cost-effective and efficient way to make it!

How many musicians have studied global copyright laws as they relate to intellectual property, piracy and infringement?

How many have protected themselves when it comes to owning & controlling their masters?

How many have legally protected themselves against unlawful production of and profiting from their image and likeness?

How many have made sure that at the end of the day, a revenue stream is flowing back to Jamaica?

Why is there not a well-funded and efficient recording artist association or advocacy group?

The whole thing is what I call a "Jamaican syndrome", which is evident even in our government, whereby they step aside and let foreigners take the lead in anything that requires intellectual exertion.

The foreigners are prepared to put in the time and stress of doing things right – and we allow them and then expect them to turn over the lion's share of the profits to us. We're out of our minds.

If we don't have the knowledge we ourselves have to study and acquire it. That's the long and short of it.

Yardaka Riddim says:

When me sterted to listen to Reggae, 1988, me don't even understand one word, so me learned the english language, readed the Bibel and other good teaching books ( Marcus Garvey ect. ), at the end me wanted to know where Reggae comes from and went to Kingston Jamaica, that was the real moment when me really knows where it comes from and that Reggae is not just Music, it's a life! Since that time it's my life too! And me can't overstand that a lot of Reggaefans here in Europe pretent that they are the ruler of Reggae ( the most of them was even neva in JA )! Yes, here in Germany we have the big Summerjam too, but they don't give the Respect to the Jamaican Artists, cause me see too much Europeans Artists on their shows and wonder why them don't bring more Jamaican Artists there, whiles those Promoters making nuff Money with Reggae! Them should support the Jamaican Artists and with it the country where it comes from!!!! Jamaica!!!!!

mrmegabuckssongs says:

Big up Coxon, big up Roddy. I recognise why Coxon is pissed but how him deal with Roddy was not right. Roddy simply played the hand that was given. He never claimed that he was who Coxon said he was. Mi nuh care if Coxon is foundation, how him present Roddy was wrong.

Joel Bookal says:

bless up everyone, respect to coxsone one of the forefather of dancehall, but we have to give respect where it's due, David rodigan never say he buss nothing, he always show respect to people like coxsone, but radi take it all over the world while coxsone just play mostly in England, big up rodigan,

Bernie says:

Sir coxsone 100% agree….them a give web the music an a buss the outsiders!

Black Slate says:

BIG UP, EVERYTIME, KEEP THE TALKING. THE PEOPLE WILL HEAR THE REAL TRUTH, AND ONE DAY THEY WILL UNDERSTAND. WORK AND YOU WILL GET PAID. DONT GIVE AWAY BECAUSE YOU CANT SEE WHERE ITS GOING. REGGAE MUSIC IS A CULTURE NOT A FASHON, ITS LIFE FOR PEOPLE LIKE US.
