That resolves something that had been a mystery to me for a long time. I always had some respect for the muslims in Spain. I knew they were egalitarian and that when they were defeated the Christians engaged in the inquisition and massacred the Cathars. I perceived that after Spain, Islam changed, it became more literal, it focused only on the Koran. It is fascinating to learn that it was the African influence that made it so cosmopolitan. I am also fascinated with the libraries of Timbuktu. Since Islamic times in Spain, libraries have been kept and books revered in Timbuktu. It has been only recently that the library has been attacked but by Muslims. I wonder if this is in the same context as the good Dr. Henrik described happening in Spain so long ago.
Black people that are Muslims are equally ignorant how they came to be just like Black people being Christians! Before people try to speak ill of this great teacher you need to really look into how Islam came into Africa, I guarantee you wouldn't want to be apart of Islam then!
