I usually don't agree with Glenn Beck but he did get one thing right. The losers of the Civil War did write the history. Lets be honest, America was and still is racist. But there was a time where no matter what your color was if you were a hard working man and of good faith you could get somewhere. Yes it was difficult for our brothers and sisters who were slaves, but the blacks that weren't were thriving.
Slavery would have eventually ended and we should have all been seen as Americans but something happened right after the Civil War which made white folks literally hate us. They wanted us dead. There is a difference between looking down on someone, vs. wanting them dead.
