The Last Poets with Bernard Purdie…from the LP “Delights Of The Garden”…This is the tune “Blessed Are Those Who Struggle”..

Written by Suliaman El Hadi

Voices: Jalaluddin Mansur Nuriddin Suliaman El Hadi Abu Mustapha

Bass, Guitar: Mann
Drums: Bernard Purdie
Conga: Abu Mustapha Suliaman El Hadi
Percusion: Jalaluddin Mansur Nuriddin Suliaman El Hadi Abu Mustapha

This is a different lineup then the original “Last Poets”
The original Last Poets were formed on May 19, 1968 (Malcolm X’s birthday), at Marcus Garvey Park (formerly Mount Morris Park, at 124th Street and Fifth Avenue) in the East Harlem neighborhood of New York City. The original members were Felipe Luciano, Gylan Kain, and David Nelson.

The group continued to evolve via a 1969 Harlem writers’ workshop known as “East Wind.” Jalal Mansur Nuriddin, Umar Bin Hassan, and Abiodun Oyewole, along with percussionist Nilaja, are generally considered the primary and core members of the group, as they appeared on the group’s 1970 self-titled debut (contracted by noted Jimi Hendrix producer Alan Douglas) and, in various combinations, on subsequent releases. Luciano, Kain, and Nelson recorded separately as The Original Last Poets, gaining some renown as the soundtrack artists for the 1971 film “Right On!”.

Umar Bin Hassan, and Abiodun Oyewole still perform under the name “The Last Poets”.

James Tillory says:

YHWH, The Noble Cause (To Die For):
Blessed are those who bless YHWH by giving and showing HIM love, obeying HIS WORD and honoring their Holy Covenant commitments to their word of honorable (honor HIS Son, Yah^shuah) allegiance to YHWH in themselves. Their blessing escapes/avoids the grave.

"Blessed are those who bless YHWH's people." 🙂

When so-called Blacks of today realize why they were brought into the oppression of slavery; and WHO caused them to be under such punishment; because of what they themselves had done wrong, by/in abandoning their word and transgressing YHWH's laws.
Then, like the Ysraahlites of yesterdays gone by did in Egypt; the Blacks entrenched in other nations will serve their bondsmen through such oppressiveness; in waiting (not wanting) upon YHWH for HIS deliverance. Which will be mighty and fierce; as in the days when YHWH delivered them from Egypt.
YHWH will smite the leaders and bondsmen of those oppressive nations, as HE hardened the heart of the Pharoah of Egypt; to purpose the destruction and death of the Egyptian enemies of the Black (Ysraahlite) nation of YHWH.
Because the Blacks (Ysraahlites) have the ALMIGHTY HAND of YHWH; according to HIS immutable WORD.

AND, it is YHWH WHO will at some time of HIS choosing, settle all accounts with all other nations who are caught (ensnared; "cornered") by their taking hold of YHWH; when taking hold of YHWH's people (nation).

Yes!!! Blessed are the accursed people/nation of YHWH; that people/nation who moved YHWH to seemingly (to some people) dispossess HIS people/nation for a time; during which times, other nations designed to handle and/or mishandle (set-upon) YHWH/YHWH's people; even YHWH's own dear Son, Yah^shuah.

The enemies knew who they were handling?

["I believe" they didn't. At least, not as they should have known.]

YHWH reveals, "the world (all other nations) has not known ME."

However, YHWH will make HIMSELF known to other nations; byinthrough those other nations own provocation of YHWH.

["Know ye not, that amongst many GOOD things: "YHWH is an AHLOHYM of war."(?); and, YHWH will not dispossess (abandon) HIS WORD/Word (HIMSELF/HIS Son) concerning HIS people/nation (sons).(?)"]

" 'It is a terrible thing to fall into the HANDS of an angered YHWH.' "

Although, evenso, many people who were of YHWH's own nation shall not survive; in the day YHWH proves the POWER of HIS/His WORD/Word in SPIRIT.

i aint trying to be offensive but this video is about BLACK struggle. It is not to belittle whatever struggle u have. Non blacks need to stop piggybacing on Black struggle and articulate their own. The burden is too heavy for Blacks alone.

I put this vid on youtube so what are you talking about..??

champukeilyn says:

Better to bless a bother than to curse him. The LAST POETS always planted seeds of positivity and inspiration that are still producing to this day…40 years later. I just love them…ALL OF THEM.
