The maladjusted personality is created and maintained in service to another.

Often a maladjusted personality is created and maintained in service to parental and familial self-image; to societal, economic, political values and goals…

If the maladjusted personality is a defensive and avoidant one, and such defensive and avoidant tendencies are deemed neurotic, then they are created to defend the individual against neurotic demands and to help him avoid a reality that is painful…

Unhealthy personalities cannot be created by healthy environments. Since the un-health of an individual or group can result in the relative health, wealth, security, power and sense of identity of another individual or group, then it serves the interests of the latter individual or group, i.e., the dominant individual or group really becomes dependent and comes to need the unhealthiness of the former. If the health of the former means a reduction in the dominance of the latter, then the latter will resist the health of the former despite its pretentions to the contrary.

The captive African’s maladjustment justifies European dominance and exploitation, rationalizes Eurocentric treatment of African people and thereby reduces their guilt and self-condemnatory feelings for behaving toward the African in ways contrary to their stated political and constitutional, ethical, moral, and religious principles. The maladjustment of black people maintains Eurocentric self-esteem, self-definition and identity, self-concept, sense of security and control since the captive African’s debilitated state, debased and degraded nature will not permit him to successfully overcome such dominance. Black maladjustment induces the captive African to engage in self-defeating behavior, which relieves the Eurocentric establishment of having to impose direct militaristic oppression and allows it to blame the victim for his own predicament. It induces the captive African to behave in such a way such that he will economically and otherwise, and apparently of his own accord, support the European establishment to the detriment of his own without being conscious of his doing so. Maladjustment is used to induce the African to engage in self-destructive behavior so that he may annihilate himself, or that his demise can be permitted or enacted without triggering Eurocentric guilt and without costly resistance…

This man was quite simply the greatest theoretical psychologist of all-time! There is no psychologist — past or present; black, white or other — who was ever as brilliant as he. You only arrive at this level of clarity and these types of theoretical conclusions by having a powerful intellect and high-level rational, thinking capacities. In other words, Amos was no fucking light-weight. Don't take this man's words and insight for granted, Afrikans. This is as GOOD as it gets.

Dr Wilson is one of the TRUEST of true African Leaders. Sekenen Re, Amose, and Kamose in 1, without an army! Thank you for a transforming understanding. Now let us take this up and begin to teach our children, otherwise they will grow up and we will still speak of the same thing we lament today. We may not feel like we are doing enough however. Though MLK did not come to the depth of insight as Dr Wilson, yet he provided leadership at a time it was sorely needed. Therefore I quote from him:
"If you can't fly, run; if you can't run, walk; if you can't walk, crawl; whatever you do you MUST MOVE FORWARD!" Nothing little we do, if it is positive, is too little!

Awesome read,  Get the book.  One time I was at a Black Charter School in DC and none of the teachers wouldn't even look at the book.  These so called Teachers do not read.  I had a Vendor table.  I had that and Awakening the Natural Genius.  These Teachers are not Conscious.
