I'm an African American getting ready to marry a Filipino. I'm really into history and culture and used that to start looking into her background. I know her mom is Visian (spell check) and her dad come from Iloilo. From what I've seen in photos, articles, and even African American History school books talking about the wars Americans fought in the Philippines in the early 20th century, I am led to "assume" they originally looked more black before Spanish and Japanese invasion..
