Born and Raised in The South Bronx all (Black / Latino)….I'm Hispanic and Unfortunately most of my education growing up back in the days was on the streets and the word Nigga' was part of the everyday vocabulary and not one white person lived or hanged out in the hood unless they were buying Drugs or the Police showed up.
Older, Wiser and with my own family now, I do my best to keep that programmed word Nigga' out of my fucking head, that shit be slipping out my mouth in conversations even at work!!…I be checking myself, biting my tongue.

The phrase "Working in the fields" brings up the connotation with slavery in most people who know american history. So, Bill Maher did not come out of nowhere. As a comedian, he made an attempt at poor joke. It should not have been said; period! Unlike, Dr. Umar Johnson, I did see this live and felt like nails on a chalboard when I heard it. I'm not sure why Dr. Johnson spent so much time on "out of the clear blue, Maher was dropping N Bombs and he knows what was in the heart of Maher. We must leave room for context and nuance and this polarizing world.
