A very useful video. July 31,2017 this exact discussion on Facebook is being posted about. The posting are the result of a July 21,2017 report entitled Racial and Ethnic differences in Homicide of Adult women and The Role of Intimate Partner Violence-United States 2003-2014. Of course the post on Facebook does not do the subject justice just what Dr. Curry is pointing to.
he usually talks rapid fire but glad he's not here. i got the book and will begin reading soon
Ok for the love of God you should have let us know on the RNN that you have a Youtube channel. I watched a lot of your material on RNN and was really upset that your show ended. Seems like you have just moved on to a new Channel. Glad I found it, though it was an accident
This is why The Honorable Elijah Muhammad preached separation, not because of 'hate whitey'… It is because as Frances Cress Welsing said, black men pose a threat to the survival of the white race, and so black people need to get distance from this threat from America, in general… Might be leaving out a few steps, but one may get the general idea…
I understand that black men's experience with manhood/masculinity has been complicated by the history of white supremacy but I felt like Dr. Curry was somehow absolving black men's role and responsibility in exercising misogynoir and patriarchy. Intersectionality cannot be slighted when discussing black identity. The human experience is complex. Individuals have a combination of privileged and unprivileged identities. Period! Also, where is the evidence that domestic violence in the black community between black men and women is mutual? Yes, all people are capable of harming other people but let's not fool ourselves into thinking that women have some sort of mutual power over men. I guess the violence against women's act was a figment of our imagination.
powerful dialogue. how do u guys factor in molestation and rape in the black community. I've heard that 60% of black women have dealt with some form of sexula molestation. How do guys factor that in?
This is a loaded conversation. How could this information be shared on a basic level?
Dr. Curry is AWESOME!!! He was just on The C.O.W.S w/ Gus T.
Esp since we are still existing in "the political economy of miggerdom," this discussion definitely needs expansion & then we need to act in the elimination thereof‼️
Very, very important conversation,. Admittedly, I had to rewind a few times to fully get it.
This subject needs to be discussed more. 100%
This is brilliant discourse
