OMG, how could I forget this Marcus Garvey song on the anniversary of his birth on August 17, 1887. From Burning Spear's third album, Marcus Garvey (1975) The Mighty Diamonds and Culture jumped into my mind right away this morning, but the always humble Winston Rodney let them go first, knowing that I would never forget him. How could I? Burning Spear is one of the stars that shine brightest in the history of Western music. (And for being so self-effacing, Winston gets an added version side.)
Five baldheads don't remember old Marcus Garvey.
Marcus Garvey ! A priest of Jamaïca.
Everliving Mosiah Garvey
music to meditate upon, music has lost substance.
Now I hafta read 80 posts by people trying to sound Jamaican…
