If I was not born and raise Haitian this may have sounded true to me….the very foundation of voodoo is the interpellation of fallen spirits. Now what Europeans brought to Haiti was not Christianity but rather catholicism which is paganism dressed in Christianity as a result of Constantine- this is a whole other topic. That is the very reason why all of the so-called saints and idols in catholicism are an exact representation of the "loas" or spirits practiced in voodoo. For example, the virgin Mary in catholic is the "loa" called Erzulie; and it comes in many forms " freda, agwe, zwe rouge, danto…" All are fallen spirits. Any black supremacist, which I find Mr Smalls to be, who is elevating the black race, particularly as a result of what blacks suffered from whites- is bogus. Only in Jesus, every creed, every race, every kind is truly equal. Yes, this very Jesus that he would say never existed or is portrayed as a "white" god. Jesus in not a God of a particular race or kind. He is "global"- for every living kind who would accept him. In Haiti, should you be caught in the streets at the wee hour, 9 out of 10 times you might be confronted with voodoo mobsters in search of souls….guess what? Only the name of Jesus would not allow them to touch you. I am speaking from experience. I don't know about him. He mentioned doing sacrifice by killing animals….this practice is not specific to voodoo- that's the exact practice that used to take place prior to Jesus. It makes sense why Jesus is the sacrificial lamb- meaning we no longer need to kill poor animals to release any "energy". Back in those days of the revolution, the diaporas who became Haitians were more closer to their African ancestry thus, had deeper knowledge of the science of vodoun and had organized themselves according to those science to defeat these world armies. I went to school here in the United States, in Haiti, and nobody never taught me anything about the subject of vodoun; It is such a taboo.I had to find out on my own. I was raised a catholic and went to at least six different religions of the christian faith suching for God.
