Estelle Light says:

Sadly too many black/nonwhite people canNOT grasp this POINT! People think there is a place they can go to where Racism White Supremacy does not EXIST. They also think the acquisition of titles, degrees, fame, job positions, and material wealth means they are not a prisoner.
In the Shawshank Redemption, Andy Dufrenes, was a banker highly educated, working on the warden's taxes and guard's taxes. He got some perks from his position but the Warden was running the show and Andy had to answer to the guards under the dictates of the warden. Andy got free and helped Red when he left Shawshank prison as well as bringing down Warden who shot himself. But an excellent point is Andy did NOT work with others he found his way out as an individual (He was his own leader- a soldier of one)

Charles Whitfield says:

Makes so much sense. So simple but far superior than the teaching you can get from any university in America
