Actually, as a white guy this breaks my heart. I would love to see every neighborhood prospering around me for many reasons. I gain nothing if someone on the other side of town struggles. But what this man is describing is the consequences of decades of parasitic "leaders" keeping themselves in power by teaching people that OTHER people owe them something and that they're entitled…hich makes it very hard for a capitalist based business to succeed in any neighborhood. It's always "somebody's responsibility" to clean up their own mess. This is not an entire black community problem…but this is a culture within the community problem, like the KKK culture is within white community…but at some point there's going to have to be an honest conversation about this like we had to have about our problems. Just sayin'…hope it works out tho..

Neal Conway says:

So there you have it.

This is the reason why no one wants to put money in the black community. Because we don’t support one another.
We can’t keep a business in the community. And we always stab each other in the back and support another race. And more reasons.
So putting money in the black community will just be a waste of money

tellurye says:

It's really about cultural differences. Blacks aren't career focused, they want money now and quick. They focus on family and pride large families. When an Asian or white teen age 13 gets pregnant, there is worry. For blacks its a huge celebration. Most are proud to have 3 kids and another on the way before age 18.
Drop out of school take care of kids. If black business does not work out, we'll just collect welfare. Oh and school, well fuck.it. They also can hold family reunion and the locals courthouse or jail.
Other cultures focus on education, career, making money sure, but take pride in their careers and jobs.
There are very few folks who are serious, and those are the ones who succeed.

darrell poole says:

Generalizations..all black businesses aren't this way. I wish we wouldn't dog out our race this way. Self hate is holding us back. Find another race that does this. I'll wait..so sad.

Johnnie Wiggins says:

Before you open a business you have to do research, soul food restaurant, philly, thats, crazy, Blacks can cook that at home, remember the movie soul food, where were
they at, home, blacks not supporting that mess, now if you open a fried shrimp window,
people will stand in line pay high prices too, no matter what happening! Philly is also
the poorest city in the USA, If your selling the same service or product the white man has
in a all black neighborhood you going out of business! Blacks not supporting that, Also
blacks don't respect your business like other races, due to jealousy, self hatred, and not
wanting you to have nothing, a learning process a black entrepreneur will learn if you don't
learn nothing else, The best thing to due for your own business is forget about just black
people serve everyone, buy making a product or buying a product to sell online, there are black millionaires right here in philly , and jersey , who made the own products at home,
and now selling in stores like walmart ,amazon, look them up, E'TAE natural products,
SCOTCH PORTER grooming products,

Jason Eric says:

IF you go to a white owned restaurant or national food chain store where there are black employees, it's most likely they will display unprofessionalism and provide poor customer service. It's mostly black female because they spend too much time gossiping. This is what I have observed the black race is a done deal. White supremacy prevails again.

EricaYE6 says:

Black people don't like, value, or respect each other for one.
