Powerful. Excellent teaching. Loved listening.
Great teachers find ways to help their students dream bigger, and desire
more. This helps them want to learn. It helps overcome the initial problem
Dr. Wilson speaks on how the effectiveness of learning is dependent on
whether or not the student wants to learn, which stems from their
priorities and desires. What they care about. What their goals are. Great
teachers ask their students what they want, and work from there. They ask
what you want. Then they ask why you want it. They know how to get to the
core of what you really want, to help you understand yourself more. They
help you understand what you really want, on a deeper level. Then they ask
you again, what do you want? And you have a new answer. They help their
students grow their dreams, and once the student has a dream they will
fight for, something they really care about, something that they’ll do
anything to achieve, *then* more specified teaching can begin, and the
person becomes a more willing student. They now want to learn. They have
become a more "effective" learner, because they are listening to teachings
for a different reason. "How can I take what is being said to me right now,
and apply it to help me in achieving my dreams?" goes through their minds
more often. They begin asking questions, and the questions they choose to
ask come from a desire to grow closer to their goal. Students learn deeply
this way.

As a speaker & debater, I’ll take Malcolm X. As a psychologist, I’ll take
Dr Wilson…as an overall leader, I’ll take Marcus Garvey. Without him, we
would t have a flag or Pan Africanism as it is presently constituted.
Everyone after Garvey copied or took elements from his platform,
organizations, and etc…

The excellent and honorable dr. Amos Wilson who also happened to be a
Garveyite. We must continue to acknowledge the books, ideas and the
