we study the history of Greece and Rome we see that both of these entities
went on imperialistic war campaigns and attacked all nation/states they
came in contact with especially Gaul, Brittania (Britain) and they robbed
those lands of wealth, kidnapped the artisans, and skilled people taking
them back to Greece and Rome to develop their lands. So all of the
technologies the Greeks and Romans are given credit for was plagarized.
Also on March 3, 1861 Czar Alexander of Russia declared the Emancipation
Proclamation for the 30,000,000 Russians slaves (serfs) and others captured
during war. He compensated the slaveholders and distributed land to the
ex-slaves. These were all white slaves not Black people. The compensation
and distribution of land is what saved Russia from a bloody civil war over
this issue. Czar Alexander would still be assassinated 20 years later by
malcontents of his kingdom!

Blacks keep calling men like Dr. Wilson prophets and visionaries. The
fact is they’re scholars, who READ and researched racism, the American
economy, and Black history. This was done out of INTEREST, and the intent
to survive. They took a historical look at world economies and could
predict what was going to happen to Blacks based on trends. They
understood what was happening in the trade deals. Their predictions came
from KNOWLEDGE. The knowledge more Black Americans would have if
they were more interested in this kind of information, instead of whatever
else they’re doing. Dr. Wilson stated this knowledge is out there.
Always has been. It’s all around. Dr. Anderson (an economists) stated
that he has been preaching and showing Blacks how to get
economic empowerment for over 40 years. Now he’s tired of Blacks not
listening. Dr. Wilson has passed. Such men are not going to be around
forever, and we won’t either, if we don’t drop the TV mentality and get
books or onto the Black history/ economic channels. We already KNOW
this kind of information is NOT going to be taught in schools, or seen in
main stream media. What we don’t know is how long we will have access this
type of information via the internet. Corporations regulate the
internet. If we truly want to survive, we’d better research, establish,
support or join groups that are doing the necessary economic projects that
will ensure Black survival. Hopefully, it’s not too late.
He makes lots of valid points about what people today call crony capitalism
— companies using the government to limit competition and create
monopolies.
The part I disagree with is that he speaks as if true capitalism and crony
capitalism are the same thing. They’re not. True competition, where
different restaurants keep their interiors clean and their food fresh,
because otherwise customers will go eat somewhere else, is a healthy thing.
Places where there isn’t that kind of competition, like North Korea, the
old Soviet Union, Cuba or Venezuela are disasters.
Individual inspiration, creativity, freedom and hard work really don’t
matter? There are thousands of successful black entrepreneurs who know
otherwise. Again, Dr. Amos is correct about how corruption and monopolies
can exist to thwart competition, from sweetheart deals between a school
district superintendent and his brother-in-law who owns the heating/air
conditioning repair firm, to national trade deals. But it doesn’t mean
individuals don’t count.
Many of the topics Dr. Amos Wilson speaks on should be more rigorously
analyze today. His analysis is not only prescient, but, deep in its
stripping-away at the illusion of America’s meritocracy. By displaying with
striking logic and in-depth critical analysis; he manages to perform an
"archaeological dissection"–digging up the events of America’s past and
candidly displaying how wealth and power are procured in American, not
through–rugged individualism.
I would like to say that Bro. Dr. Amos Wilson is the smartest and most
intellectual teacher I’ve ever had the privilege of studying and listening
to and all of the things that he’s saying in 1994 is happening now here in
2015. Such prophesy I’ve never heard previous or now, thank you so much for
your vision and teachings Dr. Wilson may you continue to R.I.P. great and
mighty ancestor.
These conditions were foretold at Deuteronomy 28:15-68 written almost 3,500
years ago. We can wring our hands all we want but our conditions will not
change unless and until we come to grips with who we really are and begin
to behave accordingly.
