If only you blacks were just as racist as the whites that oppressed you, maybe just maybe then we can live equally, until then, you are your own enemy.

el scientifico says:

First off Philippe, thank you for creating such a wonderful conversation. Thank you for bringing together such colorful personalities… but I've got questions. If Stan lee wrote the Black Panther story back in the 60's, wouldn't it behoove us to talk to him about the genesis of the story?

Okay, I'm 47 minutes in and I'm flabbergasted. I mean, I understand the idea of myths, the role they play in establishing the internal ideology of a people but, Black Panther is not that mythos! If you want to look at it as a simply a doorway to discover the real wonder of black history; from the Dogon cosmology to Ubunto philosophical thought, I'm good with that. But I'm in the camp of the woman on the panel; the moral/western leaning flaws of this movie (the CIA man, the shiny disney model of africa,) must be revealed and explained if this film is to be used as a learning vehicle for african american youth. Remember, we are the people with dust on our souls, that shiny western concept is illusion.

Black Light says:

As some one who taught for almost 20 yrs you can not expect public schools to teach these things. We are going to have to create a parallel education process that we can have a measure of authority in and teach what we want how we want so that our children can know the truth. Asians, Arabs and other culture groups know this and have what are called cultural schools. They are not schools that are blessed by the state but are schools ran by people in the community that have a concern for the children and their future and the future of the culture. The easiest way to destroy a people and their culture is to mis educate them about their past. Dr Imhotep is correct it is one thing for us as adults to know this but it is a whole different thing to properly educate our children who are our future.

Raphael Adeniran says:

Philip, you channel is like food to me. Keep it up, i shall be in touch.

Unspoken Voices Inside Media says:

The solution is for those with all this knowledge to write text books for K-12 to use in public education. Black people pay taxes into our government and we have so many knowledgeable leaders with the ability to make this a reality. My question is why this has not happen? Yes it starts at home. but families our working long hours or two jobs. This is just to meet the basic living expense for most families.

Don Hayes says:

Great show Philippe! I got a strong feeling to watch your show.. This show has helped me to know and appreciate the conviction and passion of what real teachers and freedom fighters look like.

I was thinking what can I do from where I am to support these great minds? I am going to support each one of you. Professor Kaba I grew up in Harlem and raised in the Bronx. I'm now residing in Philadelphia .

A friend of mine at work shared with me the culture and history of Haiti and the Haitian revolution and I told him that out of all the countries I want to explore now it's Haiti where I want to visit first. I'm even more now than ever before committed to do so is that my soul has connected to Ezili cause and vision. I am going to allow for the ancestors to intercede and approve of this gala event to raise funds for the Haitian people.
