Black people make up 13% of the population of the United States yet they only own and control one half of 1% of the wealth of the United States. To internally, effectively and productively deal with the problems that plague Black America, Black people in the United States of America collectively as a group need to own and control a percentage of wealth equal to the percentage of their population in the U S A which is 13%.

PROBLEM:
Black people do not own or control enough WEALTH as a GROUP to do anything about their social, political or economic conditions.
Group wealth is measured by the number of times a dollar circulates amongst a group before it leaves that GROUPS community.

Asians 13 – 14 Times.
Whites 8 – 12 Times.
Hispanics 6 – 7 Times.
Blacks 0 – 1 Times maybe 2 if you include Sundays.

Banks are the key component to wealth and the first step to Economic Empowerment in any civilized society.

Black Owned Banks are:
1. Black owned Businesses you can support and EARN money at the same time.
2. The only businesses where the Black dollar circulates/touches Black hands 7-20 times or more before it leaves the Black neighborhood.

Without Black Owned Banks Black owned businesses cannot survive! It is overly imperative that more people bank with Black owned banks. By putting our dollars in a Black owned bank we can support and help Black owned businesses. religious institutions, schools, new home owners, existing home owners, non profits and each other all at the same time. “Banking Black” also builds wealth INDIVIDUALLY and COLLECTIVELY at the same TIME.

While the number of black-owned banks plunged from 48 to 22 over the last 15 years, Hispanic banks grew from 31 to 39, such Asian institutions from 69 to 78, and Native American ones from 14 to 18, the FDIC reports.

Historically, these banks have stimulated and revitalized their communities while also financing customers whom major banks have shunned.

OUR GOALS:
1. Encourage 2 Million people to open new accounts in Black Owned Banks by February 28th 2017.
2. Build a Black Banking Community to economically, politically and socially leverage the collective resources of the banks to build Black institutions, industries and communities.
3. Establish a national Black Bank to support the development of the Black community nationally.
