Rashida Davis, Really Nourish says:

Have you read When Banana Was King by Leslie Goffe? It's a fantastic biography about a Jamaican banana magnate back in the late 19th-mid 20th century. A.C. Goffe's father was white but he could not pass. Nonetheless, he builds a massive empire in banana export between his parish in Jamaica and Baltimore, MD after having risen in the ranks of the largest agrobusiness of the time – United Fruit. He quit and started his own firm. The author is his grandson. What I gleaned from reading it was that there are no barriers if you know and believe in yourself. Confidence can make all the difference.
