Yes, red lining is still going on today in the U.S… Gas prices tend to be higher in the so called Black community. Also, many businesses such as Pizza Hut do not deliver in "certain areas" in many states. Schools typically in the suburbs have better textbooks and are cleaner, whereas inner city schools tend to be unkept. At least, this has been my experience where I live…#BlackLivesDontMatterIntheUSA #RedLining

The first caller really shows how damaging the system of white supremacy is. Total confusion about WHAT IT IS AND HOW IT WORKS!!! The frustration in her voice was heart breaking, and not being able to clearly state your problem is exactly what the rascist want for non-white people.
One thing I learned about redlining is that they now use "nicer terms" to refer to the same thing.
For those who have the option of being in a home-owner community, they have different terms to refer to different types of populations (and economic bases) that want to live there. The "Economy" homes are the lowest level and are for people who have smaller budgets and don't typically buy the upgrades (most non-White groups live here). Next is the "Traditional" homes, much nicer, more upgrades, higher price, not typically shown to certain groups (regardless of money). Then there are the "Luxury" homes. These are top of the line, best upgrades, don't show to anyone who they (as well as other home owners there) don't approve of.
Here is what one home developer says:
"A community isn’t just a collection of homes. It’s a collection of people. That’s why we don’t just consider ourselves new home builders. Instead, we are a collection of people…."
Same thing just sugar coated.
